My thoughts: I came across this design in an article on religious embroidery. As described in the caption, “the three circles are symbolic of the God-head. Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Out of the God-Head comes the last revelation of God to the world of Our Blessed Lord, the Christ and the cross. It is as once beautiful and stirring.” I agree and hope you do too. I combined two appliques to create the design.
